Reimagination in Progress

Lower Level and PowerTower Glow-Up in Full Swing

Get ready, because we’re taking things to the next level! From Sept. 9 to 27, Children's Museum Houston’s entire lower level and PowerTower will be closed—but not for long! As part of our Fall 2024 Glow-Up, we’re reimagining these spaces with an innovative material called K-13 to create an even more engaging and immersive experience for you.

WHAT’S K-13?

K-13 isn’t just any upgrade. K-13 is a dynamic spray-on insulation that not only helps with sound control but also regulates temperature, creating a cozy and comfortable environment for all your interactive play, learning and exploration.

But don’t worry—there’s still plenty to explore! While the lower level is getting its Glow-Up, there's still plenty to discover throughout the rest of the Museum:

  • Chevron Maker Annex workshops will be popping up all around the Museum, sparking creativity and discovery wherever you go!
  • Power Science Lab is on the move—catch it by the INVISTA Science Station for some electrifying fun!
  • Exhilarating workshops are taking over Yálalag: A Mountain Village in Mexico and popping up in Alexander Art Academy inside Kidtropolis, USA, with surprise hands-on activities for all ages!

We’re reimagining the possibilities to give you an even better experience, and we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next.

Thanks for your patience— and we’ll see you on the other side of this exciting transformation!
