HOUSTON (Oct. 16, 2024) – Children’s Museum Houston is thrilled to announce the return of its popular Sensory Friendly Days program, launching with a Halloween at the BOOseum-themed event on Oct. 21, 2024! This event marks the beginning of a new season of Sensory Friendly Days, designed specifically for children with autism and sensory sensitivities and their families, pre-registration is required. With four events scheduled at the Museum and two more at Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center, families can look forward to a season filled with inclusive, engaging activities.
This first event will feature special Halloween-themed programming tailored to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all visitors.
SENSORY FRIENDLY DAY HIGHLIGHTS FOR MONDAY, OCT. 21
Halloween Story Time sponsored by Phillips 66: Join us for an interactive and immersive Halloween story time that will spark imaginations while offering a soothing experience for children sensitive to sound and light.
Community Resource Partners: Meet organizations dedicated to supporting families with sensory sensitivities and developmental needs.
Cool Down Room: A dedicated space where children can take a sensory break and recharge in a calming environment.
Sensory Friendly Day will provide families an opportunity to enjoy the Museum at their own pace, with lower sound levels, reduced lighting, and specially designed activities to ensure a stress-free experience. The Halloween theme adds a festive twist, making this a day of fun, learning, and connection for children of all abilities.
