The Welcome Baby Initiative seeks to increase the frequency in which parents talk, read, and play with their baby in order to stimulate brain development. Children’s Museum Houston has developed this custom bag that includes items designed specifically to get parents talking and engaging including:
Welcome Baby bags are distributed by persons-of-trust at partner locations such as schools, churches, WIC clinics, doctor's offices, and other community organizations.

We are invested in all children of Houston reading at or above grade level by the end of 3rd grade.
