‍Children’s Museum Houston celebrates Valentine’s Day with sheep heart dissections for the little ones and after-hours mischief for the grownups

HOUSTON (Feb. 5, 2025) – Cupid called… and he said to clear your schedule! Whether you’re a pint-sized sweetheart or a grown-up looking for a night of unapologetic fun, hearts will race at Children’s Museum Houston as we serve up a Valentine’s weekend celebration so full of love, laughter, and science—your heart might just skip a beat!

FOR THE LITTLE LOVEBUGS: VALENTINE’S “ART IN HEART” WEEKEND (Feb. 14 to 16):

Little hearts, big discoveries! Join us for hands-on activities that are as fun as they are heartwarming:

Picnic Science - Sheep Heart Dissections sponsored by The W.T.& Louise J. Moran Foundation:   Got the heart for science? Get hands-on with real sheep hearts and discover the beating truth behind this fascinating organ!

When: Feb. 14 and 15 at 2 and3:30 p.m. in Power Science Lab.  Limited spots available.

Tiny Prints of Love – A Valentine’s Keepsake Craft: Love at first print! Capture tiny handprints and footprints for a keepsake that will have you saying, "Awww!" Perfect for ages 0 to 3and their caregivers.

When: Feb. 14, from 10 to 11a.m. in Celebrations Room

Music Therapy Workshops: Turn up the love songs! Music helps us connect, express emotions, and, most importantly, have a blast!

When: Feb 16 at 12:30 and1:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium

Light Up Valentine’s Day Cards: Let your love shine brightly by creating an electrifying, DIY light-up card for someone special.

When: All day in Chevron Maker Annex

Valentine’s Headbands: Wear your heart where everyone can see it—on your head! Create a headband that’s equal parts adorable and Cupid-approved.

When: All day in Kid’s Hall

FOR THE GROWN-UPS: “U-NITE OUT!”  (Feb. 15, One Night Only)

Because love should be fun—and so should adulthood. U-Nite Out is the ultimate kid-free, carefree evening where the Museum transforms into your playground for self-love.  (21+ only)

When: Feb. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m.  Registration encouraged due to limited tickets.
