HOUSTON (Dec. 12, 2024) – This December, Santa’s sleigh is making a very special stop at Children’s Museum Houston! Join us for Sensory Friendly Day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 16,2024, where families with sensory processing differences can enjoy a calm and magical holiday experience tailored just for them.

Certified by KultureCity as a sensory-inclusive organization, we’ve created the perfect setting to connect with Santa, cuddle therapy animals, and explore the Museum at your own pace. With reduced lighting, softer sounds, and plenty of support, this event promises a holiday experience filled with joy and connection.

Pre-registration is required to ensure your spot for this incredible day!

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS:  

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!:  Santa and his trusty elf will be spreading cheer and posing for holiday photos. Make memories with the jolly man himself!

When:  From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the cozy Kids’ Hall Alcove.

Therapy Dogs with Faithful Paws:  Snuggle up to friendly therapy animals who are sure to bring a sense of calm and a smile to your day.

When:  All day in Kids’ Hall.

Sensory-Friendly Storytime sponsored by Phillips 66: Enjoy a calming and engaging reading adventure with our team.

When:  At 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in Parent Resource Library.

STEM Masters: Get hands-on with science experiments that spark curiosity and creativity.

When:  All day in Kids’ Hall.

Cool Down Room: A dedicated quiet space is available for guests needing a break.

Where:  Celebrations Room on the second floor.
