Children’s Museum Houston is thrilled to announce the return of its popular Sensory Friendly Days program, launching with a Halloween at the BOOseum-themed event on Oct. 21, 2024! This event marks the beginning of a new season of Sensory Friendly Days, designed specifically for children with autism and sensory sensitivities and their families, pre-registration is required. With four events scheduled at the Museum and two more at Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center, families can look forward to a season filled with inclusive, engaging activities.
This first event will feature special Halloween-themed programming tailored to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all visitors.
Halloween Story Time sponsored by Phillips 66: Join us for an interactive and immersive Halloween story time that will spark imaginations while offering a soothing experience for children sensitive to sound and light.
Community Resource Partners: Meet organizations dedicated to supporting families with sensory sensitivities and developmental needs.
o Diagnostic Intelligence Assessment Group, LLC: Workshops, tutoring, and more!
o ACES ABA: Discover their Applied Behavior Analysis programs for children with autism and developmental disorders.
o Bright Path Behavior: Explore developmental, behavioral, and community resources.
o University of Houston (UH) Cognitive Lab: Learn how research into children's language learning can help families and educators better support kids.
Luna Family Autism: Visit with the Luna Family Autism! They specialize in Applied Behavior Analysis therapies and resources!
Cool Down Room: A dedicated space where children can take a sensory break and recharge in a calming environment.
