Playtime puts you in a better mood and is important for a child's development, but most of all it's just fun! Enjoy this WonderWeek full of fun craft, and science activities and get to playing.
All over the Museum
During every WonderWeek we encourage children to play, experiment with science, and to create craft projects. But have you ever considered just how important it is for children's development to be allowed to play and to create art?
Here's why play and art are essential to a child's life: Play builds imagination and creativity. Art and play help to develop mental growth in children by allowing them to try out new ideas. Creativity is a useful skill to have even later in their adult life.
Creating art and playing also allow children to exercise self-expression. Self-expression is important because it can be a way for the child to convey their emotions in a healthy and positive way.
Another reason why crafts and play are important is that when kids use their fingers to manipulate art materials, they are developing their fine motors skills.
Play and artistic projects also encourage a stronger sense of independence, and they sharpen the child's problem-solving abilities.
The following are fun craft, and science activities which will occur all throughout May 23-28. Ready, set, play!
