About the Event

Join us in helping us celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month with us! We will explore tons of different cultural experiences including story time, learning how to make seashell necklaces and more. Or join us with a live performance by Dance of Asia America! There's something for everyone here. Don't miss out!

WHATS HAPPENING

Storytimes and Crafts: Listen to a story about the cultural significance of cherry blossom season in Japan and then make your own cherry tree out of tissue paper to take home!

When: At 10, noon and 3 pm in Kaleidoscope

Ruby's Chinese New Year: Enjoy Ruby and her zodiac friends in a story that's not just a celebration of the Lunar New Year but an unforgettable adventure where the spirit of the zodiac comes alive.

Silambam Houston: Experience the vibrant rhythms and graceful movements of Indian classical dance as Silambam Houston showcases a captivating dance performance at the Museum!

Dance of Asian America: Celebrate AAPI Month with performance that showcases the rich cultural heritage of China through authentic Chinese dance..

Henna: Experience the rich cultural tradition of henna with the Islamic Arts Society and learn about the artistry behind this timeless practice!

When: From 5 to 7 pm in Kids' Hall

Polynesian Crafts - Seashell Necklaces: Create your own piece of island paradise with our Polynesian Crafts activity! Learn about the significance of seashells in Polynesian culture while creating a unique souvenir to treasure.

Calligraphy: Discover the beauty and skill behind the ancient art form of calligraphy with the Islamic Arts Society.

My Hula Hut: Experience the vibrant spirit of the Pacific Islands with a performance featuring traditional and contemporary Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, and New Zealand dances, along with cultural lessons rooted in the rich traditions of the Pacific.
